Small Biz Sin: I let my inbox dictate my to-do list ๐Ÿ˜ตโ€๐Ÿ’ซ

I sat down today to MAKE A SURVEY for my audience but then I opened my inbox for a password and hereโ€™s what I did instead:

  • I noticed that I had an email from one of the companies Iโ€™m an affiliate for. I needed to update my affiliate link for a new 30 day promotion.

  • So I opened my Squarespace to update my websiteโ€™s resources page and remembered I wanted to update my homepage photo. Tested multiple photos, decided I didnโ€™t like any of them and put back the original.

  • Then I realized some of the links on my homepage were broken so I went to fix those. Decided to double check the links on my resources page and then went through every link to see if they had any extra promotions. A few did so I updated those too.

And now Iโ€™m making videos...

๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿป Which is why I preach a focused, clear to-do list and only opening your inbox when you have the time scheduled to respond. Extra tasks go on your to-do list for later.

My ADHD does not help the situation. ๐Ÿง  My brain looooves to check off tasks and doesnโ€™t care whether theyโ€™re important or not.

Changing your workday as you go instead of starting with a focused plan, is going to speed up your path to burn out. Which, I can say from experience, you do not want.

So hereโ€™s a reminder to myself and to you:
