Dare to Grow is launching a quarterly PRINT MAGAZINE for small business owners
It’s time for me to spill the second part of the new era of Dare to Grow!!
Something that I've been seeking myself and something that transports me all the way back to the beginning of my blogging and website building journey. Which makes it feel even more like the right direction!
This turned out to be a long one so if you just want to see what’s new CLICK HERE!
When I was content planning for this year I wanted to include more trending business news (for SEO purposes) so I went searching for big magazines and blogs that support small business owners.
I popped them all into a feed reader and the next day, sitting with my matcha and laptop in bed, my heart sank as the articles populated. Post after post, magazine after magazine…every single one was about AI. I went publication by publication, deleting the ones that were just AI-related until there was nothing left.
While I’m aware of its ever-growing presence, I’m also aware of the continual destruction of things around AI. I go out of my way to avoid it, I don’t ask Chat or Claude or whatever name platforms pick, and I’m not going to recommend it to my audience.
I’ve been blogging and building online since 1998. Almost 30 years. There are challenges at every level of growth and AI isn’t going to fix them all.
As I’ve been reworking my business post-burnout, I spent this summer asking a lot of questions: What support do solopreneurs need right now? What challenges are coming up for them? What do I actually want to spend my time doing? What do I need creatively? (my ADHD always wants to make things) And the big one, what do I have the capacity for?
Turns out it’s a PRINT MAGAZINE.
Y’all - this is literally the thing I studied to do. My degree is in journalism. Writing ebooks was part of what grew my business. Double Your Blog Traffic doubled my blog traffic again and again. And it’s the thing I (and maybe you) have been CRAVING as a content consumer.
I don’t want to be yapped at.
I want to sit in my cozy spot, flip through the pages, take time to learn from and about other business owners. I want an hour to myself and an hour for you to slow down and absorb information.
I don’t need to do more things faster. I need a freakin’ break.
My vision is to put the Dare to Grow blog in print with a bunch of fun extras so you can have a space away from your phone to work on growing your business.
The first issue of the Dare to Grow Quarterly magazine will drop 11/11
It’s full of:
Articles, interviews, essays
Guest writers
Reader questions
Creator confessions
Horoscopes
Journal prompts
Motivational artwork your can put on your office wall
Games to give your brain a break
A small biz owner directory (for when you need to find a copywriter, designer, editor, coach, etc.)
And YES even a QUIZ - I wrote it today and it’s so good!!
If you want to write for or be in the mag:
Head over to daretogrow.co/magazine to see how you can share your stuff! The deadline is short for the first issue - Nov 1 - but I’m also collecting for issue number two which will come out in Jan.
I hope you’re excited to be inspired in a new way! Less than a month to go - can’t wait to let this one fly!!
